GCCA Student Life

An environment where students thrive, explore, laugh, and create memories and friendships that last a lifetime! Here's a glimpse into the life of our GCCA students.

All-School Devotionals

All of our students gather together twice a week for worship and a devotional that encourages reflection, faith, integrity and community. Parents are always welcome to attend and share in this meaningful time together.

No-School Fridays

FRIDAYS.jpg

With the exception of one or two Fridays each year to meet requirements, students do not have school on Fridays. This schedule supports our active, outdoor mountain lifestyle and provides families with flexibility and balance.

Educational Field Trips

Students take part in educational field trips that extend learning beyond the classroom and bring lessons to life. These experiences enrich the curriculum through hands-on exploration and real-world connections.

Senior High Trip

Royal Barge Procession

Senior high students can take part in mission trips that combine service, cultural learning, and personal growth. These meaningful experiences encourage students to actively live out their faith while serving others.

Family Connection Events

Throughout the year, families are invited to join students at school for fun, fellowship, and connection. Events like Donuts with Dads, Muffins with Moms, and ice cream socials create meaningful moments and build community.

Handbells Ensemble

Students in grades five through twelve have the opportunity to participate in handbells, meeting once a week after school to learn rhythm, coordination, musical technique and ensemble performance.

Recreational Field Trips

We sprinkle in some fun recreational field trips such as snow tubing, ice skating, hiking and skiing throughout the year. These outings build friendships and create lasting memories while encouraging active participation.

Junior High Trip

Group Hug Outdoors

Junior high students can participate in a week-long retreat that builds independence, teamwork, and learning beyond the classroom. We also offer a service-focused trip to Denver to help the homeless, share the gospel, and support local ministries through hands-on outreach.

Community Service

Junior and senior high students participate in community service projects that encourage compassion, responsibility and active citizenship by serving others in real-world settings within our community.

Elementary Choir

Students in kindergarten through 6th grade can join our elementary choir, which meets once a week before school to build musical skills and confidence. Choir members enjoy learning teamwork and performance basics.

Sports

While sports are not offered at GCCA at this time, our class and bus schedules allow for our students to pursue their athletic interests through the local public schools and Fraser and Granby recreation centers.

Senior Thesis

Senior students complete a capstone thesis project on a controversial subject that demonstrates critical thinking and independence. This experience prepares students for future education and professional experiences by strengthening research, writing, and presentation skills.
